Camden Town, London

This morning we took a long walk along the ocean front in Brighton. Before experiencing Brighton, I thought that I lived in the most commercialized country in the world. But the English got a head start and after opening up the colonies as a huge real estate development scheme, commercialized most of the world. And the Brighton beach front is a great example of their prowess. There is the Brighton Pier amusement park, and the beach front walk with anything you might want to do: tennis, jumpy houses, beach volleyball, pitch and put, soccer, gambling, go carts, miniature golf, running, cycling, it's like a cold Venice Beach, with pebbles rather than sand.

 

And the local event planners are hard at work. As we wandered we ran into a huge Mini Cooper rally. There must have been a thousand of them in unimaginable variety. There is an entertainment festival going on and the streets today were full of folk dancers and instrumentalists. And then there was a Yamaha 75 rally, just a nice buzz along the beach front.

 

Now we are at home in London near the Tufnell tube stop between Kentish Town and Camden Town. Here are some photos of our neighborhood:
