Last Day on the Cotswold Way

We got up this morning to light rain, but by the time we got on the trail it had stopped, so we had good English weather today, cloudy and cool, but no wind. Here are some photos from yesterday:

Typical fencing in the area.
Black slug.

Rhonda can't understand digging these up.

Today we hiked from Painswick to Kings Stanley. We hiked with two couples we met on the trail, the Wards from Near Oxford and the Rides from Melbourne. It was different and very nice hiking in a group. Our recollections of the hike today will be of the group, and what we learned of their lives and places of residence. Except, of course the triangulation stations we saw.

We are staying in the Star Inn in Whites Hill. The pub is now full of people, including a meeting of the local hockey team. This is quiz night here and there is much anticipation!

  1. Thanks for the wonderful account and photos of your walk! Looks like you were very lucky with the weather. Your blog brought back so many memories of our many visits to the Cotswolds when we were in Gloucester, Worcester, and Hereford for the Three Choirs Festivals. Will anxiously await your posts from Yorkshire! All best wishes, Holly & Bruce
